A+ for awesome recounting of possibly my favorite (amusing) story in the Norse canon.

Oppressed Heathens™ think, naturally, that they’re being oppressed or marginalized and such.
White supremacists not only think that they’re being oppressed or marginalized, they think they’re being targeted by people of color (who are of course just calling them out on their ignorant white shit), and they even to organize themselves and act on this belief. It is no mere coincidence that white supremacist organizations have a strong tendency to appropriate and misuse the heathen motifs of their own heritage for their wicked purposes.
So yeah, Oppressed Heathens™ are only a few steps away from being legit white supremacists, if they aren’t there already.
See this, all you folks who think Marvel comics are appropriation and oppression on the same scale as what’s been done to indigenous peoples? And then dismiss those who call you out on it as “cunts” and “idiots”?
THIS IS WHY YOU ARE A PROBLEM.
You are causing more actual damage to outsiders’ views of Heathenry than Marvel ever possibly could.Have you not seen how this whining and refusal to use your brains has caused people to think of Heathens just on Tumblr over the past few days? Heathenry has enough trouble distancing itself from Naziism and white supremacy without you throwing uninformed hissy fits when your privilege is rightfully pointed out to you!
So stop throwing benches around the mead hall because of your feelings, sit down, STFU, and listen. And then stay quiet and absorb and process. Then do serious research before you speak on the topic again.
I’m officially adding Oppressed Heathens™ to my personal “GTFO my hall” list.

Wooo, I got my welcome e-mail today! Hooooray :D So, during what little bit of free time I’ve had today (I have a 9 month old, and my 11 month old niece lives with us, so I watch her a lot during the day, so I don’t get much free time til night time), I’ve spent browsing through the members section of the ADF website (still waiting for my member packet and DP manual in the mail). I’ve downloaded the DP manual to my kindle; nice that there is a .pdf version on there, but while I plan on reading some of it tonight, I’d prefer to do my DP work using the physical, paper version. I’ve joined two of the mailing lists for now; ADF-Druidry and ADF-Dedicants. A couple of the Special Interest Groups interest me as well; specifically the one for solitaries and the one for parents (since I would like to introduce my son to my path at some point). I’m also considering the SIG for the Morrigan. I’m going to wait to join any SIG for now though.
That is all for right now; going to browse the member’s section some more before the baby wakes up again.
Yay! Just wanted to share some basic info about the different groups that isn’t readily available on the website:
The Solitaries group also has a facebook group, as does the dedicants group. The dedicants also have a class that meets every Tuesday night on WizIQ. I edit the solitary publication, Solitary Season, of which we put out our first issue this Beltaine. I hope to expand it A LOT for Lughnasa.
Hope to see you around the net!
Hello all!
Trans Spirituality has been on a sort-of hiatus for awhile, but I’ve received a couple submissions and found some reblog-worthy posts, so I’m hoping to get it going on a somewhat regular, if sparse, schedule again. And the cool part is that you can help too!
Since there isn’t a lot out there about trans spirituality or trans people in faith and religion, a lot of what this tumblog has been and will be is personal stories, whether short like the “confessions”-style posts I reblog, or long like some of the submissions we’ve received in the past or bios of trans people making the news for their religious leadership. I will of course still be posting anything else relevant I can find, but for now, the bulk of what will be posted will be about everyday trans folks.
Want to help out in getting Trans Spirituality going again? Check out these useful links:
- Why a Tumblog about Trans Spirituality?
- The idea list for submissions.
- And also what safer space means here at Trans Spirituality.
Thank you so much for following this tumblog; just knowing that there is support and interest in this intersection of identity is so meaningful. Currently there are 185 followers—wow! Do you think we can make it to 200 soon? How about by the summer solstice?
Remember the ask box is always open, and submissions are this way.
Namaste,
PS: Please feel free to use this tumblog to find other folks with similar interests to you! I will copy/paste any asks that are general calls to the community into a text post that can be reblogged, and include a link to your ask as well if your Tumblr username is included.
